Woodward's Tae Kwon Do Academy

The perfecting of oneself is the fundamental base of all progress and all moral development -- Confucius.

Call Woodward's Tae Kwon Do Academy to get more information regarding our taekwondo classes.

  • What type of martial art do you teach?

We train students in taekwondo which combines strong kicking and striking skills. We also teach a combination of take-downs, joint locks, submission holds, and pressure points to complete an awesome self-defense arsenal.

  • What physical benefits will training at this school provide?

Our training regiment will work on strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, and speed. You will notice more energy and will learn to understand your body, while also achieving the ability to control it. Body fat loss is also a result of increased activity.

  • What mental benefits does your school provide?

This is by far the most important skill taught in our school. Our students are expected to learn respect, discipline, and goal setting. All students of this school learn courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit. Paperwork assignments and in-class discussions also help to develop these traits.

  • How is this school different from the others?

We provide the students with discipline. When in class our students are expected to show respect by answering "yes sir or ma'am" or "no sir or ma'am." Support of school grades and attitude is given by encouragement from instructors. We will not allow our students to participate in certain activities unless their grades are sufficient. Report cards are shown to the instructor at every grading period. When their grades are improving they receive recognition for this. Most grade problems result from a lack of effort or desire. Friday classes are a reward. Our students are taught the meaning of self-defense. Fighting is always the last option. We do give our students the ability to defend themselves. Our school provides students with techniques to use while standing up or even from the ground position.

  • How long will it take to get results in classes?

You will notice results after the first month of training. But don't let this fool you. Any instructor who says you will be efficient in less than one year is fooling you! Just as math, science, etc. takes time to learn so do the martial arts. You may get some basics down properly, but it is the repetition of training over time that causes the student's abilities to improve.
